week two - the wonderful year of color
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the wonderful year of color!
We hope you enjoyed your instant sanka and your chocolate bars, had a little popcorn and are ready to dive back into some color!
day 5, a visit to Felix Roasting Co. one of my absolute favorite cozy color cafes in NYC. You walk in to my dream color combination instantly, teal blue and coral pink everywhere, perfectly divided. including arched ceilings, wallpaper, zigzag flooring and matching couches and tiny velvet stools. *Remember to order your treats 'for here' to experience the ceramic cup and saucer, lovely wedgewood like papers for your scones- not only is it more sustainable, its far more beautiful.
This was a day for workout clothes spruced up by color, I live for this plaid blue and teal green coat, and my ball cap has a tiny purple clam shell (For you-know-who) from 'whositsandwhatsits'.
day 6, a visit to the movie theatre! we LOVE Lincoln square theatre on the UWS near Lincoln center, it's full of murals from my favorite eras, but its also truly colorful and fun. fantastic atmosphere, and theming. I wore my rainbow shirt, bright blue slip ons and a yellow trench, ( 100% #Thriftedstyle ) and we say #JoJoRabbit , to prepare for the #Oscars! loved it. I must say for the first half I couldn't stop thinking WHY did we make this? and then it flipped me on my head and left me thinking it should be required viewing. I would also like all of Scarlett Johansson's costumes. (can you stand that magic rainbow escalator of film?!)
Day 8, visited the incredible New Orleans themed bar for a press night to kick off their Mardi gras month. They had the most wonderful wallpaper, (which you can see below) and Micheal Arenella (of the Jazz age lawn party) playing, while I sipped a cocktail with Nicole
(@darlingindots ) and wore a nod to purple and green for Mardi Gras.
Day 9, SUSAN ALEXANDRA THE MUSICAL!!! this was the greatest #NYFW event I've ever been to or heard of. the form of a 15 minute musical for FASHION WEEK is perfect. it was inclusive, thoughtful and silly, and also highlighted what makes fashion week worth celebrating. I loved dressing the RAINBOW with my Sam (@aww.sam ) who is the QUEEN of colors and rainbows - we're a well matched pair. I loved the rainbow bag on ice, and the incredible colors of Susan Alexandra's collection. I mean a PLAYBILL program in fashion week? more of that please.
rainbows for all lovely humans!
